Peter Kemp Sculling Classic

Last Sunday up on the Hawkesbury River between North Richmond Bridge and Windsor Bridge was the inaugural Peter Kemp Sculling Classic.
The event celebrated the history of the Kemp family, with Peter being 5x Single Scull World Champion in the 1880's coming from the Hawkesbury region. It was amazing to see Balmain Rowing Club coming together to put on a wonderful regatta supported by Michael Kemp descendant of Peter. With all the competitors saying how peaceful and flat the 13km Time Trial was. A huge thanks also has to go to Windsor Paddlesports Club for the photos and the BBQ for the competitors and supports a long race and before the drive back into the city!
It was a fun and worthwhile experience for all. From those looking to explore new waterways to the eager beavers who battled it out for the $500 cash prize for the fastest sculler.
