2026 Bromley Trust Scholarship | Recipients announced

Published Tue 26 May 2026

Seven of New South Wales' most promising young rowers have been awarded the prestigious 2026 E.R Bromley Scholarships, with each athlete receiving $1,500 towards seat fees associated with representing Australia in the Under 19 and Under 23 Australian Rowing Teams.

The E.R. Bromley Trust was established by the late Ted Bromley of Mosman Rowing Club to support young NSW athletes selected to represent Australia who are not receiving direct State or National funding support. Ted dedicated more than 60 years to the sport of rowing and represented Australia in the pair-oar at the 1948 London Olympic Games.

The scholarship program continues today through the ongoing generosity of supporters and donors who share Ted Bromley’s vision of assisting young NSW athletes pursuing international representation.

In establishing the Trust, Mr Bromley expressed his hope that recipients “will display great spirit, enthusiasm, and determination in representing Australia, and that this Award will assist in making the challenge a little more attainable.”

The 2026 E.R. Bromley Scholarship recipients are:

Under 19 Women

Rowing NSW thanks trustees Dr Graham Jones, Terry O’Hanlon and Mark Williams for their ongoing stewardship of this important fund and their continued support of the next generation of Australian rowers.
