Congratulations to our NSW athletes who had the opportunity to race at the 2023 Head of Shanghai River Regatta. The races provided a preview of the 2025 World Championships course. The Men's and Women's Eights competed in a 4.2km Time Trial and a 500m sprint race. The Women walked away with a win in both races with coxswain Nick Dunlop (SRC) streak of never losing a race for Australia still rolling at 422 days. With U23 World Champions Samantha Morton (SRC) and Emily Sheppard (SUBC) also in the squad.

On the Men's side it was Alexander Wood (UTS) in the stroke seat leading the crew with Nikolas Pender (UTS) and Torben Ungemach (UTS) in the squad who had some amazing results as well. Coxed by Hannah Cowap (SRC) the crew came 2nd in the long distance event and won the 500m race.

What an excellent experience for these athletes with their attention now turning to the first time trial this weekend at the Nepean River!
