Event information

Registrations for this event are closed.

Rowing NSW is pleased to open an Expression of Interest for suitably experienced and accredited Boat Race Officials to take part in the 2026 Australian Rowing Championships in the role of State Technical Officials (STO).  In addition to Rowing Australia's subsidy, Rowing NSW will also be able to contribute an amount towards successful applicants as well as providing a jacket.

Umpires who have performed roles as STOs at the ARC are considered favourably when determining candidates for level 3 assessment.  The regatta is to be held from 23 March – 29 March at Lake Barrington, Tasmania.

In addition to the panel of umpires who will directly officiate the event (the Jury), there is a need for appropriately skilled technical staff to fill a variety of positions, including the following roles:

- Athlete weighing
- Boat weighing
- Control Commission (checking equipment for safety, marshalling boats to be weighed, etc.)
- Marshalling
- Umpire and Safety Boat Driving
- Pontoon/Boat Park Marshalling
- Time keeping
- Start area management

Please note that selected STOs will rotate through the positions available with the exception being boat driving as only qualified boat drivers will be rostered on for those positions.  Some shifts do end after training each night and some begin at the start of training in the morning.
