NSW Pathways Camp 1

Published Fri 20 Oct 2017

The first of four Junior Pathway training day was conducted at Mosman Rowing Club on Sunday 15th October.

Even though there were a few withdrawals due to sickness and injury on the day there was a great turn out and we could boat three girls VIII’s plus 2x along with one boys VIII and 4x.

It was good to see a number of those that were part of the 2017 Pathways campaign coming back again, stronger, fitter, bigger and better than last year, along with a good number of new younger rowers.

As this was the first training day, apart from rowing there was some testing on the Dyno and Arm/Leg bike along with a 2km ergo at Rate18 and some anthropometrical measurements taken on each rower.

At the conclusion of the mornings activities, Olympian Kyeema Doyle came along to tell us about her pathway, having been a TID rower at NSWIS and how she progressed through Juniors, U23’s into the World Championships and on to the Olympics.

Overall, it was a successful event with a good atmosphere amongst all the rowers from across many schools and clubs
