DHL delivers windfall for rowing!
DHL, global market leader of the international express and logistics industry, has made a major investment aimed at securing the future prosperity of Australian Rowing.

DHL's sponsorship of the upcoming 2005 DHL Australian Rowing Championships and Kings Cup Regatta was hailed today by Olympic President John Coates at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, Penrith.
"The timing could not be more appropriate as our emerging elite rowing talent strive for success in the Australian Youth Olympics festival. DHL has recognized our success in Athens but now wants to help give the sport a much greater profile beyond the Olympics."

Regional Director, Oceania for DHL Express, Gary Edstein pointed out that his company is already a major backer of Australian surf lifesaving and saw this latest foray as a perfect fit with DHL's corporate philosophy.
"DHL is all about delivering on time with speed and precision. As a team sport rowing seeks the same synergies. Arguably it demands the ultimate team performance and that's the kind of discipline and spirit we want to encourage among the youth of Australia."

The President of Rowing NSW, Stewart Derwin says the sponsorship allows his team to spread the message that the 2005 DHL Australian Rowing Championships and Kings Cup Regatta will be exciting and worthy of major public support.
"The Sydney International Regatta Centre is a world class facility as we saw at Sydney 2000. With planned television coverage of the upcoming National Championships we now have the chance to showcase our sport to the vast and rapidly growing communities of western Sydney. DHL's record backing is now a vehicle to attract other sponsors."
