The 2005 DHL Australian Rowing Championship regatta is the definitive event in the Australian
rowing calendar, this year featuring almost 2,000 athletes, more than 1,200 crews and scullers from over
150 clubs and schools across the country, who will race in more than 80 events throughout a week of
exciting competition. The action culminates on Sunday with the historic Kings Cup for men's eights,
a race which generates intense interstate rivalry.
DVD
For people who would like a permanent record of the 2005 DHL
Australian Rowing Championships and Interstate Regatta, G-Force
Productions will produce a DVD, featuring both the FOX Sports
program, and many other highlights from the action packed week of racing
including the schools championships. The DVD will be for sale in April,

MEMBERS RESERVE and PARKING
The Members Reserve seating area includes the area of the grandstand adjacent to the finish line and provides the best view of the final 150 metres of the course. The daily rate for entry to the Members Reserve ranges from $10.00 on Tuesday to $25.00 on Saturday and Sunday.
A Members Reserve Gold Pass guarantees you a seat in the grandstand for the week - $75. A limited number of vehicle passes for parking on the Island are available to Members Reserve Gold Pass holders only at a cost of $50.

THE EVENTS
The Order of Events has now been confirmed by Rowing Australia and a provisional program is
included in Bulletin 2 for your information and guidance.
Selection Events: Events 1 - 14
whilst remaining National Championship events, they represent the First National Selection Regatta for 2005 and the following conditions will apply.
- The events will be conducted over the first two days of the regatta, i.e, Monday 7 March and Tuesday 8 March.
- Racing will be conducted in a six lane progression - heats, semi-finals and finals. There will be no repecharges for selection events.
- Heats and semi-finals will be raced on Monday, 7 March, and finals on Tuesday, 8 March.
- Heats may be seeded by the RA Selection Panel.
- Semi-finals and finals will be conducted under the FISA exhaustive progression, i.e, A, B, C etc, and will be detailed at the time of the draw.
National Championship Events: Events 15-59, 71-79
- Racing will be conducted in a six lane progression - heats, repecharges, semi-finals and finals.
- Progression will be determined according to the FISA process based on the number of entries received into any event.
- School events may be conducted under the FISA exhaustive progression providing there is a minimum of three starters in the most minor final.
Adaptive Events: Events 60-70
Will be run as straight finals. Where insufficient entries are received into Male and Female events in the same category so as to enable separate races, the races will be combined into one but medals awarded to Male and Female placegetters.
Interstate Championship Events: Events 80-87
Will be raced as straight finals irrespective of the number of entries.
THE DRAW
The draw for National Championships designated as selection
events will be seeded and will be provided by the High Performance
Director and the Selection Panel at a time to be determined by that
group. Selection events will be conducted in a Heat, Semi-Final and
Final configuration - i.e, no repecharges. The draw will be published
as soon as it is available.
The draw for National Championship events heats (except those
designated selection events) will be available following the Competitor
Briefing on Sunday afternoon, 6 March.
The draw for the Interstate events will be conducted at the
"Rower of the Year" Award function on Saturday evening,
12th March, 2005.
Racing will be configured in a 6 lane progression system as required
by RA and according to FISA protocols. The draw will be conducted
electronically and will be random. A physical review of the draw for
heats will be conducted to ensure that competitors from the same club
are not drawn in the same heat or adjacent lanes in any race and
adjustments made accordingly prior to publication. The draw for
subsequent progressions will remain as dictated by the FISA system.
