Boat Race Officials and regatta volunteers are the backbone of Rowing New South Wales. They contribute their valuable time and expertise in assisting rowers of all ages to develop their skills and enjoy our sport. RNSW is regularly inspired by the amount of work that officials and volunteers provide at our regattas, and for that we are truly appreciative
Previously we called for and filled BRO and volunteer appointments in the weeks leading into each regatta.
This year we propose to administer the BRO roster at three distinct stages throughout the 2012/13 season:
i. August call for nominations for Sept to Dec
ii. October call for nominations for Jan to Apr
iii. Feb call for nominations for May to Aug
We expect this process should give officials and volunteers enough lead time to manage other commitments you’re your officiating at regatta in the short to medium term. However, should you wish to nominate for regattas for the entire 2012/13 season that would also be welcomed.
The process above will allow RNSW to identify the “gaps” in the BRO roster, and we can then make a concerted effort to speak to those accredited officials that haven’t identified any regattas as yet to fill these gaps (or adjust for duplications if one regatta is more popular than another) as well as working with Clubs and Schools to bolster our ranks.
