Australian Boat Race 2012 - Spectator Packages Released

Sep 27, 2012

The Australian Boat race is rapidly becoming Australia’s No 1 rowing match race. The 2012 event will see women’s and men’s eights from Sydney and Melbourne Universities tackle a new 4.4 kilometre harbour course starting near Woolwich and heading south east past the Balmain peninsula, cutting through the narrows between Goat Island and East Balmain and swinging gradually south to finish at the old Pyrmont Bridge at Darling Harbour.

Fantastic spectator packages are now available for booking online. There is a link on The Australian Boat Race website: Australian Boat Race.

Rowing fans have three alternatives:

1.       Book to watch the races finish at Darling Harbour (8.35am and 9.35am) then have lunch with the crews from 10.30am

2.       Book to follow both races on a fast ferry and have lunch with the crews from 10.30 am. Boarding from 7.20am.

3.       Book to follow the races on the fast ferry.

This is a chance to see great racing the whole way. Last year’s men’s race on the Yarra was tight all the way with Sydney getting the verdict by “inches”.  Book now.
