Masters rowing and ‘recreational’ rowing have continued to grow in popularity and numbers in every state. In an effort to better and more widely represent that growing community across a range of areas, the board of Rowing Australia are calling for ‘Expressions of Interest’ from motivated individuals to become a member on the Rowing Australia Masters Committee.
The Board will appoint a Chair to oversee the Committee and guide it through its important deliberations. The Chair will have a direct line of communication with the Rowing Australia office to the Board. It is envisaged that membership will be broadly based across states and that nominees will be aware of the issues affecting all Master age categories, specific needs of both men and women - and specific Masters requirements related to National level regattas. Leading masters medalists and frequent attendees at Australian Masters will be encouraged to approach their State Association.
Process: Interested individuals are encouraged to send an expression of interest to their relevant State Association office. The RA Board will ask each State Association office to provide a recommendation of their nominees. The Board may also appoint other members to the Committee where it feels that individual will add to the Committees expertise.
Interested individuals are requested to submit an expression of interest by no later than 31 July 2012 to:
Jenny Cole,Communications and Member Liaison Officer,jenny@rowingnsw.asn.au
All applications must include a one page letter of introduction and copy of your CV (max 3 pages). The e-mail should be marked ‘National Masters Committee’ in the subject line.
