The Best and Boldest Recognised at RNSW Presentation Dinner

May 18, 2012

On Wednesday 16 May members of the rowing community from all over New South Wales came together at Dede’s restaurant to celebrate the conclusion of another successful season and honour the top achievers.

As rowing is so rooted in its clubs, mention must first be made of Sydney Rowing Club who topped the RNSW Pointscore with 1,994.75 premiership points, ahead of St George in second (1,347.00 points), Mosman RC (1,203.5) in third narrowly beating and Sydney University (1100.5).

Mosman was duly recognised for their efforts throughout the season with Daniel Noonan being awarded NSW Oarsman of the Year, Amy Clay for the second year in a row took home the Oarswoman of the Year plaudits and Nick Garrett awarded the honour of being the NSW Coach of the Year.

A coach with World Championship Lightweight experience, Smith is the Master in Charge at Sydney Grammar and guided the school to consistent success through the 2010-11 season

In another joint effort, Pymble Ladies Colleges Mark and Gill Campbell won the Schoolgirl Coach of the Year. This is the fourth time that Mark and Gill have won the award together and an impressive seven times in the past 12 years that Gill has been recognised. David Jennings from Shore was a notable recipient talking out the Schoolboy Coach of the Year award for the third time.

In one of the more popular announcements for the evening Sydney Rowing Club’s Dallas Smith, Mick Allen and Max Annett were awarded the prestigious Rusty Robertson MBE Award for their significant and sustained contribution to the endeavors and the objectives of the Association over many dedicated years.
