Eleven New South Wales’ rowers have been named on the Australian Junior Rowing Team has this morning at the 2011 Rowing Australia National Selection Trials in Penrith.
Following three days of trialling New South Wales athletes were part of all five crews that will compete at the 2011 World Junior Rowing Championships in Eton, England. The regatta, which runs from August 3-6, will also serve as the official test event for the rowing venue that is to be used at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Louis Snelson (NSW) was selected for his third consecutive Australian junior team, while Nick Wheatley (NSW), Aaron Wright (NSW), Natasha Gay (WA), Eleanor Wilson (QLD) and Chloe Hill (QLD) will make their second appearance on the Australian team.
The team will meet for two training camps at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra ahead of the world championships, whilst also continuing their own training programs in the interim.
