It is with the deepest regret that we advise the passing of Lenore Agnew, daughter of Kevin and May Agnew, sister of Margaret Mackenzie and Stewart and mother of Aaron Agnew. Lenore was widely known throughout the rowing fraternity. She passed away on Monday afternoon the 18th December after a long illness with cancer.
Our thoughts are with her family in their time of grief.
May Lenore rest in peace.

Stuart Halsall was recently appointed by the NSWRA Board to the position of NSWRA Adaptive Rowing Coach and Coordinator. This volunteer role was created to assist with the "Toward Beijing" Adaptive Rowing Program, an initiative of NSWRA and the Australian Paralympic Committee to capitalize on NSWRA's strong background of success in Adaptive Rowing and the APC goal of winning medals in rowing at the 2008 Paralympic Games, the first time rowing will be on the Paralympic Program. Stuart will be working on a program to attract more athletes into Adaptive Rowing Programs around the State and to identify those athletes who have the greatest chance of successfully representing Australia in Beijing.
Stuart is an active competitor with Drummoyne Rowing Club and also has the following credits on his resume:
Roseville Rowing Coordinator/Head Coach
NSWRA Schoolgirl Rowing Committee
Drummoyne Rowing Club Member/Competitor
Sydney University Women's Masters Rowing Coach
Former Director NSWRA and UNSW Rowing Club President

NSWRA SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIPS
Thank you to everyone who participated as either a competitor, coach, official, volunteer or the staff on a huge NSWRA Sprint Championships at SIRC on Saturday 16th December. To the crews, marshalls and BROs, well done on the starts and keeping the flow going, it was a great effort to keep a regatta such as this to schedule. The format appears popular with seats up from 391 in 2005 to 585 at this year's Sprints. Again, thanks and well done!
Rowing MAGOZINE
We have just received our latest copy of Rowing MAGOZINE (January/February 2007) and are really impressed with the content featuring people close to the heart of the NSWRA. Great photo spreads with Peter Hardcastle in the Quad at Eton greeting us in the opening pages. Special features on Mosman Rowing Club legends, the Evans family (and how can you go wrong with a class name like that?), the Mosman Masters success in the US, Corporate Rowing (again at Mosman - well done in the self promotion department!), a great article by Andrew Guerin on a tale from Leichhardt's Steve Roll, an update on the European scene with words from John Boultbee and Harald Jahrling, the Rowperfect Challenge gets good coverage, Roseville College Rowing has a great feature with some quality photos even the one with Stuart Halsall's head in the background (given that he's the author he may have had some sway on the photographic content) and if all that isn't enough the Rowing Hall of Fame features Bill Beach.
We wish Editor, Rebecca Joyce the best of luck in her future endeavours as the January/February is her last as Editor of the magazine.
