Rowing NSW in conjunction with Balmain Para Rowing, Nepean Rowing Club and Penrith Rowing Club will beconducting a Try Rowing day for people with a disability at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, Penrith on Saturday 19th August 2017.
NSW has been the premier Para Rowing State for the last few years both competitively and in the number of people enjoying rowing recreationally, and we want it to stay that way.
In addition to offering an opportunity to come and try a fun and friendly sport, we are looking for potential athletes with a vision impairment or physical impairment who may wish to race competitively. Rowing is a Paralympic sport and Indoor Rowing is an Invictus Games sport. At this Try Rowing day we are offering athletes the opportunity to take Rowing Australia’s Talent Identification Tests with, ultimately, the chance to represent Australia at World Championships and the Paralympics. You can read more about Rowing classification at www.rowingaustralia.com.au/development/pararowing/para-rowing-classification
Whatever level you want to be involved at, we would like to see you at this training day.
Please register your interest either at:
email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
We will also be taking this opportunity to christen our rowing barge which was purchased with a grant from the Office of Sport specifically to assist community and para rowing. This grant was the result of the hard work that Rowing NSW former Finance Officer, Melissa McCormack, put into applying for financial assistance to allow Rowing NSW to support its clubs and members.
