The building of the Women’s National Training Centre at Penrith continues to take shape with the below photos taken from a site meeting held yesterday. The facility is on Bruce Neale Drive in Penrith, across the road from the Nepean Rowing Club boatshed and Rowing NSW’s Don Croot Boatshed.
The multi-million dollar facility is funded in partnership between the NSW Institute of Sport, Rowing Australia and Rowing NSW with significant support coming from the NSW Government.
Racking for boats will be installed next week and it is expected that Women’s National Training Centre athletes will begin using the facility from the 17th of July – shortly after their return from World Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland - with final handover expected to take place in September.
When completed the Centre will feature 2 boat bays, gymnasium, offices, toilets and change rooms and an athlete recovery zone.
